"My experience working with SPOT Project has been a life changing one. I currently live in Gambia and will stay here for a year. Deciding to come out here and work for the project was not a difficult decision to make after I first visited in January 2019. The solidity and honesty that this project offers is something rare and praiseworthy.
After my last visit, I knew what I was coming to the second time around, however, I had no idea how rewarding it would be working with these children up close. Every child has their own unique personality and with a focus on character building, this school truly allows each child to grow into their own person."
"I volunteered with SPOT Project for a first-hand opportunity of seeing how a UK charity operates abroad. With SPOT Project being an independent charity, I was able to be active and experience the matters of running and maintaining an orphanage first-hand. These experiences have fine-tuned my focus and goals in life while also teaching me to appreciate the very little things in life that are often overlooked. To those thinking of getting involved I’d say jump right in. Don’t waste time thinking about it, just do it. It will change your life for the better."
"The first time I heard of SPOT Project was in 2016, my sister wanted to organise an event to raise money for the orphans in Gambia. We managed to organise a family fun day and it was a success Alhamdulillah. We didn’t really have many expectations as we thought SPOT project was just like any other charity, with people in charge that you never see or communicate with. The founders of SPOT Project soon dismissed those thoughts as after organising many events we realised how involved the whole team is, whether or not they are in the same country.
The SPOT Project has given us the opportunity to meet so many amazing people and put smiles on the children’s faces in Gambia. It’s truly a rewarding experience and this is the only charity I’d work with as they are transparent and you can see exactly where your money goes."
"SPOT Academy is a great charity and organisation that I have proudly been able to be a part of, from donating food, to taking part in the 2k challenge, to sponsoring an orphan. SPOT really do ensure you have access to not only communicate with the child you are sponsoring but you are able to send videos and voice notes, which makes it more personal and heart-warming.
For me, this is very important as it allows you to know and interact with the child you are helping a little bit more, I do believe this makes SPOT unique and shows exactly what I truly love about SPOT, the transparency - with everything, you are kept up to date with the Academy, the children and your queries are always answered, you are even able to visit the academy in The Gambia. SPOT Academy solely focuses on giving these children the best opportunities in life and showing them the care, love, support and attention that every child deserves the right too.
For me to be able to know I am helping a child through such an organisation is amazing and I am thankful for the opportunity. If there is anyone looking to get involved or support a child then I would highly recommend SPOT as they are professional, understanding and solely focused on ensuring the best standard of care and diligence towards each child and the Academy as a whole."
