The price paid by poor communities with no access to safe water is huge. Wasted income, lost time and ill-health all have a devastating impact on families. Children in particular suffer, with water- borne diseases being one of the biggest killers of children worldwide.
Tackling the shortages of clean water around the Ummah remains a big challenge. Providing water is a very good way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap Allah’s blessings for as long as the well supplies water.
Due to advances in technology, SPOT Project no longer build water well but has instead invested in progressive initiatives such as boreholes. A borehole is a solar powered mechanism which involves drilling deep into the ground to access clean water. The water is then powered up and a tap system is created. The advantages of a borehole make it more sustainable, easily maintained & accessible to all.
It is important for public health that available water – whether it is used for drinking, domestic use or food production – is safe. It has been proven that improved water supply and sanitation can boost countries economic growth and result in poverty reduction. Every person has the right to safe, continuous and physically accessible water for personal and domestic use.
Installing a borehole system consists of the following:
Email us the name of the person you would like on the plaque on [email protected] once you have made payment for a Borehole.
“This is a very close estimation of the costs of a Borehole. Costs vary due to material prices and construction costs. Any surplus funds left after we build your borehole will go into the ‘Borehole Maintenance Fund’. Alhamdulillah, this means that any surplus funds from your Borehole will maintain all of the Boreholes we have built and will build Inshallah.” It will take approximately 3 months for the borehole to be built.
